So what do we actually LIKE!!!???
Cross-posted to sensedefence, asperger, guyeeeeeeere, and perserverations

After much drama in asperger and sensedefence about my latest posts, I'm kind of worn out by all the angst and negativity about how we wish things could be in certain places. We've vented enough about the things that bug us. I thought it would be a good idea for a change to talk about the things we actually like, that make us feel good, our general stims, comforts and eye candy...

These are just a few of the things that make my life bearable and even cause the occassional "SQUEEEEE!"

My Latest Perserveration
I'm not superstitious and I don't usually believe in things like astrology, but out of curiousity and just for fun, I joined the following community...

I thought this might be of interest to anyone who is interested in this sort of thing and I'd be curious to know if anything especially weird has happened to you during those particular days....

Virtual Card Game..
Lately I've been perserverationg on this card game I read about in whimwham and I've been in the process of creating an online version of it. The beauty of it is that you make up your own cards ans the game progresses!

The rest of my "deck" is on display at guyeeeeeeere!!! Players can participate by copying and passing these on OR...better still, responing with their own cards! There are no real winners or losers. The name of the game is to just have fun drawing silly pictures!

Visual Stimming...
I find that often I have trouble tearing myself away from the computer because I am addicted to my "eye-candy"! I have always loved creating colourful works of art and looking at gorgeous colourful pictures and things. Here is a link I've been finding inspiring lately...http://www.philipstraub.com/illustrations_page.htm

Radio Flyer Wagons!!!
LAtely I've been perserverating about Radio FLyer Wagons! I've always liked them and I saw them EVERYWHERE when I was in Pittsburgh. THe amusement parks must have had a contract with them to rent them out to customers and the kids looked so happy and content travelling around in them! :)

About two or three times a year the Oshawa Centre has a big Antique Sale and yesterday I happened to see this adorable little miniature Radio Flyer wagon for sale for only $10. THe more I thought about it, the more I wanted it so, fortunately it was still there and today I BOUGHT IT!!!

As you can see from this link, I got a very good deal! Mine's like the first one with the pencils in it...

http://store.yahoo.com/radioflyer/acandtoy.html

I keep it near the computer to hold my hard candies.

I've been fascinated with Radio FLyer Wagons ever since I saw them mentioned on a TV program about the most popular toys of all time and Mandy Patinken is shown sitting in one in the CD my hubby bought me on our first date when we went to his concert. THere are Radio Flyer toy fire-engines on poles in Green Jeans restaurants, and of coursenow I have my happy memory of seeing happy kids riding them all over the place in Pittsburgh. I went through my old family photos to find out what kind of wagon I had when I was a kid, but mine was only a Sears.

Clothing and Special Interests....!!!!
I was noticing the outfit I picked out today. In fact I've notcied a lot of the things I wear lately have one thing in common...they usually reflect my special interests. Today I am wearing a purple T-shirt and a denim skirt and BOTH have lilacs I've embroidered on them. Yes! I love lilacs! They're my favorite flower!

The dress I wore to Jan's wedding on Saturday is ALSO embroidered with lilacs AND carousel horeses! In this case I traced the bodies of classic carvings, but decorated them with my own embellishments to co-ordinate with the lilac theme.

I also have a white, full-circle skirt with carousel horses I embroidered over a decade ago AND my WEDDING DRESS is embroidered with them too! You can see it at http://margaretfranklin.netfirms.com

And of course there are the endless T-shirts, many which I've embroidered myself, including one with the heads of my six favorite horses on the front and the words "So Many Beautiful horses, So Little TIme" and a Muller MIlitary stander decked out in lilacs on the back. I also have GOd knows how many carousel T-shirts I've got from National Carousel Association Conventions and the places we've visited there, not to mention the ones I've won in various raffles!

Then of course there's KISS!! I have the obvious assortment of KISS T-shirts and a couple baseball caps, including the Gene SImmons hat I embroidered myself and tend to wear often, but my favorite are the KISS jeans I embroidered. I haven't worn them in awhile, but I've usually worn them to various KISS concerts and events including when I was an extra in "Detroit ROck City"!!! They've even been autographed by GEne and Paul!!!

THen there's also Tigger! I bought my hubby and I matching TIgger T-shirts from the Disney store in Binghamton, but my favorite is the light blue Tigger sweatshirt I embroidered myself. I wear it quite often in the cooler weather.

And I've also created a couple Asperger-related T-shirts for myself. THe first one is what I call my "Aspergerese" T-shirt. When I first started learning about AS, the literature I looked at was so full of new and unfamilliar words such as "prosody", "pedantic", "rote", "echolalia", etc. that I decorated a shirt with a colourful montage of these words. It's a definate conversation piece. THe other is a bright orange extension cord that spells out the words "Differently WIred" and there's an electrical outlet on the back. I think I might wear that one on Saturday.

Yesterday when I was walking down the street I got thinking about all this when I realized I was wearing my Gene SImmons hat and my Roseneath carousel T-shirt.

Obsessed with Putting Things on Shelves!!!
Come check out my latest perserveration...

I found a picture of an empty shelf and started adding things to it for _ewetopia_ and lifewithlouella and thought the idea would make an interesting project for an LJ community...

So I went and created _wunderkammer_ where anyone who is interested can start shelves of your own for others to add to! :)
