After much drama in asperger and sensedefence about my latest posts, I'm kind of worn out by all the angst and negativity about how we wish things could be in certain places. We've vented enough about the things that bug us. I thought it would be a good idea for a change to talk about the things we actually like, that make us feel good, our general stims, comforts and eye candy...
These are just a few of the things that make my life bearable and even cause the occassional "SQUEEEEE!"
Carousels!! I've always loved EVERYTHING about them for as long as I can remember! The horses, the artwork, the lights, the colour, artwork , music and motion. To me they're the ultimate stim. I could never get enough rides on one when I was a kid and even now when I'm at an NCA convention I'll try to cram in as many rides on one at any given location! I've always loved horses and that's part of the attraction. Sometimes when I'm feeling depressed I take comfort in looking at pictures of carousels or watching videos of them. I wish there were carousels close enough that I could ride them more often!
KIDEO...this children's band, who have since disappeared into oblivion ages ago, have captured my imagination, much the way THESE guys have...
Go figure, I've always had a fascination for the bizarre and theatrical and tend to be turned on by masks and face-paint.
And of course Niagara Falls. It's one of my favorite places. I usually go every year but haven't been in over 2 years. The falls capture my imagination. I am mesemrized by thier sound and motion and the whole atmosphere of the area in general with all its activities.
LILACS!!!!! In my opinion they've got to be absolutely the most beautiful flower on earth! I love the way they smell and associate happy memories with them! One was of a time I was in Stratford on a school field trip. It was a dreary, rainy day and my friend was mad at me because we got lost trying to find eachother and suddenly out of nowhere a complete stranger handed me a lilac and diappeared before I could even see his face. One of my favorite places is the School of Horticulture at Niagara Falls where hundreds of different kinds bloom. Perhaps one of the main reasons I am so fond of lilacs is that their presence means that winter is officially over for good and summer is almost here! Too bad their season is so short .
Yesterday when I was feeling kind of blue I did a Google image search and spammed myself with as many lilac pictures as possible!
All in all I will generally "SQUEE" and get excited over things that are colourful and I am attracted to anything leopard-spotted. I am especially drawn to shades of purple and turquoise but I am also attracted to bright neon shades, pink, yellow, bright green, orange. The other day in computer class we made charts and I had fun making them all colour-co-ordinated with turquoise fields and legends on purple backgrounds with the data in hot pink, yellow, orange and bright green. I wish our school had colour printers!
Therefore I also get great comfort and enjoyment out of my art projects. You could say MS Paint is my best friend...
Collecting colourful animated GIF files tends to give me quite a thrill! This has got to be one of my favorite pictures above!
When I am not on my computer my hands tend to be in perpetual motion with my embroidery most of the time and I am always working on puppets or other projects.
I also love the water! I love to swim, soak in a bubble bath or hot tub! We don't always have enough hot water here. When I am staying at a hotel, I tend to use the pool as much as possible!
